BAM-BU-KU • SANT ANTONI
Just beside the sea in Sant Antoni sits Bam-Bu-Ku, one of those places that manages to hold both sides of island life at once. A colourful beach club on the surface, yet beneath it a surprisingly easy place to spend a whole day with children. From the moment you arrive there is a sense that families are expected here. Not squeezed into the corners of an adult space but woven naturally into the rhythm of the day.
For many island families it has become a familiar weekend ritual. Children arrive already in swimsuits, eyes immediately drawn to the water and the bright striped pools, while parents settle into the slower pace of a long afternoon by the sea.

Fambuku: Sundays
CHILDREN’S EVENTS EL KIDDO & FAMBUKU
Throughout the season Bam-Bu-Ku hosts El Kiddo events several days a week, lively mornings and afternoons where the entire venue shifts gently toward children. Then on Sundays the atmosphere expands into Fambuku, the big family day that draws parents and children from across the island.
Music carries through the venue while children move between pools, activities and performances. Costumed characters appear throughout the day, sometimes Batman greeting children by the water or Cinderella pausing for photos beneath the parasols. It is joyful in the slightly chaotic way that family gatherings often are, yet the space absorbs it easily.
THE POOLS
One of the reasons Bam-Bu-Ku works so well with children is the layout of the pools themselves. Rather than one large swimming area there are several shallow pools scattered through the venue, allowing children to splash and move freely while parents watch from nearby loungers. It creates a sense of freedom that can be harder to find in more traditional beach clubs. Children are not confined to a single corner. They are simply part of the day.
PLAY & ACTIVITIES
Tucked to one side of the main pool area is a dedicated children’s play space where swings, a slide and small daybeds sit beside activity tables for arts and crafts. Face painting is usually underway somewhere nearby and candy floss and ice cream appear frequently in small delighted hands. Older children quickly discover the surf simulator, which draws a crowd as they attempt their first slightly unsteady rides across the artificial wave.
FOOD & DAYBEDS
For adults the day settles into an easy rhythm between watching the children and relaxing into the comfort of the venue itself. The restaurant serves a generous menu of fresh salads, pizzas and sharing plates that work as well for families as they do for long lazy lunches. Around the pools colourful daybeds and loungers allow parents to properly settle in for the afternoon, while the beach sits only moments away beyond the palms.
CHILDREN’S BIRTHDAY PARTIES
One of the reasons Bam-Bu-Ku appears so often in conversations between island parents is birthday parties. Finding a kid’s party venue in Ibiza can be surprisingly difficult, particularly once you need space, activities and somewhere adults can also relax. Bam-Bu-Ku solves that problem rather effortlessly. The layout of the pools, the play areas and the ready-made entertainment mean that parties unfold naturally across the venue rather than feeling confined to a single table or room for the duration. Children move between swimming, face painting, games and the surf simulator while parents gather nearby on daybeds or around the restaurant. With ice cream, candy floss and characters appearing throughout the day, the celebration tends to carry itself.
For many families living on the island, it has quietly become one of the most reliable places to host a kid’s birthday party in Ibiza that keeps both children and adults happy for the entire afternoon.
WHAT LINGERS
What lingers after a day at Bam-Bu-Ku is the sense of movement and colour. The striped tiles glowing in the sun, children running between pools with dripping hair and sticky fingers from candy floss, parents leaning back into conversation as the afternoon softens. It is lively without feeling frantic, joyful without feeling forced. For many families on the island it has quietly become one of those dependable Sunday traditions that finds its way back into the calendar again and again.
