BAGELS, COFFEE AND SLOW MORNINGS

The menu centres around freshly prepared bagels, with a mix of classic combinations and more playful options. For younger visitors, the steamed rainbow bagel has become something of a favourite, colourful enough to feel exciting while still comforting and simple. For the grown ups, the coffee is a large part of the draw. It’s the kind of café people arrive at for a quick stop and quietly remain for far longer than intended, ordering another coffee while conversations drift slowly through the morning.

There is outdoor seating at the front where families can sit while children play on the pedestrianised street. Inside, the atmosphere shifts slightly. The interiors are eclectic, creative and effortlessly cool, filled with the kind of energy that reflects Santa Gertrudis itself.

FROM DAY INTO EVENING

As the day moves on, the feeling inside the Bagel House changes gently with it. After 6pm, the space becomes Overall Bar, bringing a more evening atmosphere while still holding onto its relaxed character. The transition feels natural rather than dramatic, as though the place simply turns it up a notch as the day unfolds. 

WHAT LINGERS

Gertrudis Bagel House lingers in the feeling of a slow village morning. Coffee cups gathering on the tables, children moving barefoot across the square, warm bagels arriving wrapped in paper and familiar faces appearing one after another. 

It is not somewhere that needs to be overexplained. It is simply one of those village places that becomes familiar and quietly loved.
